10 Apparel Trends That Were Huge at Coachella

April 23, 2019 | Hannah Abrams

Another year, another Coachella weekend. As you could see in your social media feeds, thousands of music-obsessed patrons made their way down to the desert to soak up some rays and listen to their favorite musicians at the first and second weekends of Coachella. As usual, it was the must-attend event of the year—even Ariana Grande released a line of exclusive Coachella merchandise.

Much like Grande, we know that Coachella is all about the fashion, and these 10 apparel trends were front and center. We wouldn’t be surprised if these looks eventually make their way to the promo apparel world (maybe you can be the one to bring them here!) so be sure to take notes.

1. Studs

Simple embellishments, like studs, were all over the Coachella Valley this year, and we can see why. They elevate a look without weighing it down, and the studs around the cuffs are a standout.

2. ’90s Statements

We don’t need to tell you that ’90s fashion trends are back, but they’re becoming more and more over the top. Here, model Kaia Gerber sported a denim on denim look, while Tommy Dorfman went all in on the fanny pack and sneaker combo.

3. Neon

Bold hues were a big trend at last weekend’s Coachella, but highlighter green especially was a huge look. It seems the neon trend is here to stay.

4. Animal Prints

Leopard and cheetah and snakeskin, oh my—no, this isn’t a song from “The Wizard of Oz,” but it is a trend report from Coachella. Fashion influencers took on the desert sun in a plethora of animal prints.

5. Tie-Dye

Much like denim and fanny packs, tie-dye is another ’90s trend descending on the masses. At this year’s Coachella, tie-dye made its impact in the form of T-shirts, tank tops, dresses and bathing suits.

6. Athleisure

As usual, athleisure continues to make its presence known. But, athleisure tube tops are a new iteration we’ve only recently started seeing.

7. Bucket Hats

some personal news: i wear bucket hats now.

Sun protection is less style trend and more common sense, but this bucket hat with maximum shade manages to combine fashion and sun safety. With ample space for a logo, the bucket hat might become the next must-have promotional accessory.

8. Camo

Camo is back in a big way as the centerpiece of any outfit. Promotional apparel suppliers should consider adding camo joggers and other athleisure offerings to their lineup.

9. Octagon Sunglasses

Move over, aviators, because geometry-inspired sunglasses are the latest fashion accessory craze.

10. Western Influences

It’s time to break out the cowboy hats, because Western style is sweeping street style. From studded belts to cowboy boots, there’s no shortage of Wild Wild West turning heads.
